Mountain Bike Trail Notice

BIKING AT WESTWOOD

Call prior to coming out (765) 987.1232 to ensure trail is open as trail will be closed when wet conditions are present.  Please ride only when the trail is dry.

Mountain biking isn't for everyone and with proper experience and equipment, you can have a safe ride.   Please follow all safety guidelines posted at the trail head and know your own limitations. 

Helmets are required.

This will be a difficult trail ride for beginners.

• ALWAYS YIELD TO HORSE RIDERS.  BE ALERT.  The hiking/mountain bike trail intersects with the horse trail at two locations, slow down and use caution when approaching and crossing the horse trail.  There is also a short section of shared trail and the horse rider always has the right-of-way.  Stop your bike and allow them to pass.

The trail closes nightly at 10:00.  Please report any trail issues to the gatehouse. 

ATTENTION BIKE RIDERS:

Always yield to horses and follow "Stop, Stand, and Speak" below:

STOP- Stop for all horses.

STAND-Make yourself seen to avoid spooking the horse. 

SPEAK-Let the horse know you are human and not predator-  even when you are behind the horse.  Let your voice be heard.
